Dennis Wille gave every student a chance to tell him what they wanted at the new playground. Suggestions such as a water slide and refrigerator didn't make the final design, but he made sure he heard every suggestion.
built in 1917, is a K-5 elementary school in Bellingham, WA. It is closed for the 2008-2009 school year for an estimated $4.5 million seismic retrofitting paid for by a voter approved bond measure. Parents, neighbors and children are using the school closure as an opportunity to replace the 30-year old playground and convert an asphalt play area into a grass field.
